Shine

our light

Shine is the product line carefully created and curated made personally for you.  Our intention behind the marketplace was to make your life easier,  whole, and accessible for you all under one roof. So many of you have asked about the cookware or cool little items you see on the pages of our cookbooks, or kitchen, and asked repeatedly, “where did you get that spoon?” or “where can I find that kitchen towel?” or ‘where do I get that ingredient?” or “that cool curled bowl?”… Well, we’ve decided to create and curate our own hand-crafted products, and we take pride in working, collaborating with like-minded people that care as much about you as we do.  We make products solely with you in mind and readily available to you.

We are deliciously enjoying this beautiful journey made possible – all thanks to You

Nothing can dim the light which shines from within.

Why Shine?

Cooking inspires creativity, enhances mindfulness, and stirs up happiness. It’s table therapeutics and floured meditation – It’s a measured lifestyle.

It is not just about eating clean. It is about what we put into our lives – there is a vital emotional component and connection to food.  It is our mindfulness, our bodies, our souls, and our hearts.

It’s kinda magical. But it can also be simple. Really? Yes.

Simplicity in how we see food, prepare it, and serve it effortlessly helps us overcome that seemingly daunting task of meal preparation. It’s a flow state. Simplicity is an authenticity to your ingredients, recipes, and genuine ease around others. There’s just something beautiful and healing in the clean basics; it’s all about simplicity.

There is healing in sharing stories, hearing stories, and connecting with one another around the table, so it’s more than just sharing a well-prepared meal. It’s sharing a laugh, a brave moment, a good story, or inspiring one another over a good bite and great company. More than food, more than cooking, it’s sharing our light and shining it effortlessly for others.

To  us, shining comes from within wrapped around three gifted fundamentals, our mind, our body, our soul:

Mind

Body

Soul (ish)

We will shine, feel happy, and full when we change the way we see food, cook with it, serve it and allow it to be a vital part of our lifestyle.

Shine (v.)

The act of using your mind, body, and soul to reflect contentment, healthiness, and joy. And allow others to benefit from our shining disposition. For us, we believe this starts in the kitchen.

Mind.

Mind over batter

Cooking empowers, enriches, and sanctifies. It feeds our hearts and souls as much as healthy relationships and exercising. Really? Yes.

Cooking (just like surfing for me) is meditation. It is therapy. It is so great for our mental health. It is a form of art, an act of patience that requires concentration, mindfulness, and intention.

Cooking is a conscious act and should be kept simple. We are present in the moment and aware of our thoughts. Putting our heart and soul into it, cooking with good intentions translates into our food. It is an expression of our souls. You are at peace, calm and present.

Let’s nurture our hearts and souls with healthy foods and meaningful relationships

Cooking is a form of art, an act of patience that requires concentration, mindfulness, and intention.

Body.

Healthy mind, healthy body It is not just a saying - it's personal.

Personal story shared from Sylvie Coulange

I come from a family of very good chefs so cooking food and preparing it was never an issue.  Coming from a (French) family that not only understands the power of gathering, sharing meals and entertaining – and living for it. Cooking wasn’t my problem. Food was my problem.  Or the lack of understanding it.

Food was not always my best friend. Perhaps like many of you, a quiet constant battle waged before me at the table when I was a teenager. Beyond food, I oftentimes found myself emotionally unbalanced and striving to be happy. I also struggled with self-love – which impaired my relationships. I decided to take action and studied psychology to understand behaviors and how our brains function.

I also studied nutrition to try to understand the relationship between ingredients that empowers health and fuels in the right way at the right time  and those ingredients that do the very opposite.

Once I understood that connection, I made peace with food and that’s when my journey towards fullness really began – which [to me] encompasses the mind, body and soul .

Understanding the mental and physical health benefits that food provides ultimately leads to well-being. Cooking, savoring (with moderation), exercising, and sharing meals are all uplifting mood boosters that bring happiness to your mind. It was a profound and intentional process for me. My perception of food gradually changed from Fear to Love.

When the fear of food changed to the love of food and gratitude for it – everything changed.

We all have a choice, and the ownership to change is ours, and ours alone. I found that preparing homemade meals / heart-made meals gave me control over the ingredients. It can help improve our health, sleep, and stress levels.

Clean eating is a healthy way of approaching food that can be followed for life. It becomes a new lifestyle, a new habit, a renewed you.

I made peace with food and that’s when my journey towards fullness really began - which [to me] encompasses the mind, body and soul .

Boost feelings of gratitude (Soul-ish)

Cooking helps create bonds and relationships, which boosts happiness. Cooking for others is nurturing, and sharing meals strengthens those relationships as we show genuine care. It is an act of love. It is all about our intentions and ourselves, our light. Practicing gratitude, smiling more, loving more, showing compassion to others every day leads to greater happiness. When our mind, body, and soul are truly aligned, we shine from within, and it cannot help but to automatically travel outward to others.

I pass along my own light, generosity, love, and joy to you.

From all of my heart to yours,

Practicing gratitude, smiling more, loving more, showing compassion to others every day leads to greater happiness.
